How To Add your Dependants on TSC AON Minet via Your Mobile phone

AON MINET medical insurance scheme covers the following dependants of the principal member.

• One legal spouse to the teacher.
• Four biological or adopted children of the teacher, aged between 0 and 18 years. For teachers in post secondary learning institutions, the age limit for the children will be between 0 to 25 years. Dependants having disabilities will enjoy these covers till death since there is no age limit for children with disabilities.

It is advisable for a principal member to register his / her dependants to avoid legal issues that may arise in case a dependant is critically ill and requires AON MINET services, but not registered as a dependant.

To register a spouse, you must first present a marriage certificate or a marriage affidavit to the AON MINET office nearest to you. This should not discourage you from registering your spouse with AON MINET. It is very easy to acquire a marriage affidavit. Just present yourself with your ID and that of your spouse to the nearest court of law and talk to one of the secretaries there. Some lawyers also offer marriage affidavits at a small fee.

To register your biological children, you must first present their birth certificates or birth notification slips (for children aged 6 months and below) to the AON MINET office nearest to you. For adopted children, you will require an adoption affidavit.

Once you have represented the required documents to AON MINET offices, they will activate your account so that you can add the dependants using your mobile phone. You need only one bob airtime balance to do this.

• Press *865# on your mobile phone, followed by the call button. Thereafter press send. A message pops up on your phone’s screen reading;

• Select option 1 and dial the send button.
• A pop up screen message appears reading, ‘Select dependant to register’. The choices are; Spouse, son or daughter.
• Choose the dependant you want to register and enter his / her details as demanded. You can do this to all the dependants that you want to register.
