How To Transfer A Student To Another school; MOE Transfer Form
Students wishing to transfer from their current schools or from schools where there have been placed for form one to schools of their choice school are required to fill a transfer form before their requests to be considered by the ministry of education. Transfer form can be downloaded here.
Schools will only admit students who have letters of transfer signed by the SCDE, CDE and Director Secondary Education & Special Programs, depending on the case.
Students seeking transfer within the Sub-County will have to get authorization from the sub county director of education, SCDE.

Those seeking transfers from a County to another county within the same region will have to get authorized by the county director of education officer, CDE, subject to recommendation from the CDE.
For students seeking to be transferred from one Region to another, authorization will be sought from the county director of education, subject to recommendation from the Regional Coordinator of Education (RCE)∙
However, Transfers from a national school to another national school will be authorized by the Director, Secondary Education and Special Programs.
All students seeking transfers must in addition get releases letters from their principals, stating very clearly their conduct. A Principal who covers up a student’s conduct shall be held responsible for any subsequent problems.
A school that may have a vacancy or vacancies to admit more students shall issue a transfer letter signed by the principal to the student’s former school for the transfer process to begin.
No transfer shall be carried out in the middle of the year except those under special circumstances.
Reasons that can instigate student transfer process include; Medical (attach medical report), Performance, Distance, High Cost, Discipline among others.Transfer form can be downloaded here.
