Kapenguria KMTC Branch Background Information
Kapenguria KMTC Branch was established in the year 1980 to strengthen the health care skills of the area residents and to increase the number of skilled personnel.
The pioneer structures served Kapenguria KMTC Branch until 2013 when modern structures were constructed to serve as classrooms, administration offices, libraries among others, thanks to west Pokot county government. The ancient structures were however renovated for use in other capacities within Kapenguria KMTC Branch.
In early 2014, Kapenguria KMTC Branch had its very first intake of students for a diploma course in Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing, prior to the Kapenguria KMTC Branch being officially commissioned by president Uhuru Kenyatta on the 16th day of April 2015.
West Pokot county boasts of being the first government in Kenya to construct and stock a KMTC. The county even donated 12 acres of land to Kapenguria KMTC Branch as an expansion strategy to the college.
