KUCCPS to Open Portal Next Week For 2022 KCSE Candidates

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) will open its portal next week for the 2022 KCSE candidates to select their courses and institutions.

KUCCPS CEO, Mercy Wahome stated Yesterday that the portal will be open in a week’s time to allow the 2022 KCSE candidates submit their application.

While speaking at state house during the press briefing, Wahome noted the portal opening was tied to universities, colleges and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVETs) disclosing their information regarding cost of their academic programmes.

While launching his new university funding model, president William Ruto directed the KUCCPS CEO to publish information regarding opening of the portal to give chance to 2022 KCSE Candidates to submit their applications in their universities of choice.

“Once the universities have given us their costs, which I hope they will do in a week’s time, we will be ready to open,” Wahome noted.

The president further indicated that the delay in opening the portal was meant to give room to the government to deliberate on the new funding model in tertiary institutions.

“Universities will be required to declare and publicize the actual cost of their programmes. No public university will levy additional charges or raise its fees without the approval of the University Funding Board,” the President directed.
