List Of Courses That TSC Will Not Consider For Registration Even With PGDE
The teachers’ service commission, TSC has proposed scrapping of bachelor in education degree and replacing it with a three year B.SC general course or B.A general course, followed by a one year post graduate diploma in education. To meet registration qualifications as a teacher, one must have a KCSE mean grade of at least a C+ and B minus in the three teaching subjects.
However, not all science or arts courses will be considered by TSC. The list below compiles all the courses that TSC will not consider for registration.
Those who have undertaken a PGDE with these courses are therefore NOT eligible for registration as teachers. According to TSC, These courses do not provide sufficient subject content and therefore the mastery of the content in two teaching subjects is not adequate as required.
Applicants for registration whose training is in subjects that are currently NOT in the curriculum do not qualify irrespective of having undertaken a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and/ or Enhancement.
