Mombasa KMTC Branch was established in the year 1948 with an objective of training Enrolled Nursing and Midwifery.
Originally, the site Mombasa KMTC Branch was at Lady Grigg maternity home within the former Coast Provincial General Hospital.
In the year 1980, Mombasa KMTC Branch was relocated to its current site at Tononoka.
In the year 1976, Mombasa KMTC Branch introduced a diploma course in Enrolled Community health Nursing.
Mombasa KMTC Branch later introduced a diploma course in integrated Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing and brags to be the first college in Kenya to offer that course.
