Nakuru Girls High school is a pure girls public national boarding secondary school located in Nakuru, Kenya. Nakuru Girls High school was started in 1922 when the white settlers in the area wanted a school for their children. In 1927, the Nakuru European School was officially commissioned to cater exclusively for children of the White settlers from the Western region of the then British colonial Kenya. After Kenya attained its independence, Nakuru Girls High school changed its name to its current name. Also, at that point is when students from all races started being admitted to the school and most of the whites withdrew their children from the school.

Nakuru Girls High school is known for doing so well in both local and national examinations. From time to time, it appears among top 100 schools nationally. In 2016’s KCSE, at least 213 students out of 227 scored a mean grade of C+ and above. In 2017, Nakuru Girls High school school was position 40 nationally in KCSE with a performance index of 59.94. The school continuously aims for higher grades in the coming years.
