NYS Deployed to Guard KPSEA, KCPE and KCSE Examinations 2022

The ministry of interior has given KNEC a green light to contract NYS officials to assist in guarding the 2022 KPSEA, KCPE and KCSE examinations. The said officials already in some schools guarding the ongoing KPSEA and KCSE examinations, with some ready still being deployed.

A source from the ministry of education revealed that with the extra assessment, KPSEA, the ministry was in shot of security officers and hence had no options but to try NYS.

In a memo sent to all school heads by one of the county directors, the heads are informed that NYS officials will be part of the security team managing this year’s exams.

“Good morning head teachers. KNEC, through the ministry of interior has approved the use of NYS officers to guard examinations /assessment 2022,” reads a memo from the county director to all school heads.

The memo further requests the heads to make arrangements of hosting and feeding the officials.

“We are therefore to transport them from Gilgil on Sunday in readiness for the commencement of the exams/assessment on Monday. We are further expected to host and feed them for the 3 days. KNEC has not provided budget for this responsibility. This therefore calls for your indulgence as head teachers to salvage the situation by providing support. KEPSHA leaders are asked to coordinate swiftly to get this support by this evening for better logistical planning. Thank you in advance for your understanding,” reads the memo.
