Negotiated CBA 2021-2025 Salaries/ Allowances Won't Be Factored If Talks Delay: KNUT Decries

Sossion To Contest For A Parliamentary Seat

Former KNUT SG Wilson Sossion, has declared his interest in contesting for a parliamentary seat. The ODM-nominated MP, during an interview with a local radio station, hinted that he is weighing the option of vying for a parliamentary seat either in the city or his home county of Bomet.

The trade unionist, who is credited with fighting for the welfare of teachers, said he has carved out a niche for himself in the country, earning him fame and respect both locally and internationally. Sossion has however not declared the party that he will be affiliated to. Whether he will contest on an ODM ticket or will switch to UDA is not established. Sources however have hinted that Sossion is still weighing options on the party choice. He is currently nominated on an ODM ticket and he has not differed with the Party. Quiting the party therefore will be a grand betrayal.

On another hand, Sossion’s backyard supports Ruto’s UDA and with the nature of Kenyan politics, it’s not easy for an ODM aspirant to contest and win in Bomet. Even campaigning in Bomet under ODM is strenuous.

It has been revealed that Sossion will avail the constituency where he will be vying after deciding on a party. Should he remain in ODM, he will consider Nairobi and should he switch to UDA, he will consider Bomet.

He said he will seek further advice from teachers and his supporters on the next political move.
