AON MINET medical insurance scheme covers the following dependants of the principal member.

One legal spouse to the teacher.
Four biological or adopted children of the teacher, aged between 0 and 18 years. For teachers in post secondary learning institutions, the age limit for the children will be between 0 to 25 years. Dependants having disabilities will enjoy these covers till death since there is no age limit for children with disabilities.

It is advisable for a principal member to register his / her dependants to avoid legal issues that may arise in case a dependant is critically ill and requires AON MINET services, but not registered as a dependant.

To register a spouse, you must first present a marriage certificate or a marriage affidavit to the AON MINET office nearest to you. This should not discourage you from registering your spouse with AON MINET. It is very easy to acquire a marriage affidavit. Just present yourself with your ID and that of your spouse to the nearest court of law and talk to one of the secretaries there. Some lawyers also offer marriage affidavits at a small fee.

To register your biological children, you must first present their birth certificates or birth notification slips (for children aged 6 months and below) to the AON MINET office nearest to you. For adopted children, you will require an adoption affidavit.

Once you have represented the required documents to AON MINET offices, they will activate your account so that you can add the dependants using your mobile phone. You need only one bob airtime balance to do this.

A pop up screen message appears reading, ‘Select dependant to register’. The choices are; Spouse, son or daughter.
Choose the dependant you want to register and enter his / her details as demanded. You can do this to all the dependants that you want to register.

AON MINET is a Health insurance company, contracted by the Teachers Service Commission of Kenya (TSC) to offer health cover services to all TSC employed Kenyan teachers. Some of the services that Teachers enjoy under AON MINET medical cover include; Outpatient services, inpatient services, dental services, optical services, maternity services, group cover and last expense covers.

Self registration for AON MINET services takes less than a minute, via a mobile phone (not necessarily a smart phone).

Before commencing your registration, you must confirm that you have the following;

An active mobile phone number
Your national identity card
Your TSC number

Self Registration Procedure

To register with AON MINET and start enjoying their services, follow promptly, the procedure below within the comfort of your house.

Press *865# on your mobile phone, followed by the call button. Thereafter press send. A message pops up on your phone’s screen reading;

Choose option 1 then press the send button.
A window appears on the screen, demanding your TSC Number. Enter your TSC number correctly and then press the send button.
The next window will want you to choose your designation. Available options are; Principal, Deputy Principal or Teacher. Press the send button once done with your choice.
On the next window, you will choose your gender, whether you are male or female.
Confirm that all details you have entered are legit. If the details are all correct, select ‘yes’. If some are not correctly captured, select no and edit them first.

Adding NHIF Number To Your AON MINET account

Being that teachers belong to two medical schemes, it is just imperative that the two schemes should be synchronized so as to increase a teacher’s coverage value in cases of emergency.

You can follow the procedure below to synchronize your NHIF account with your AON MINET account.
