Eldoret KMTC Branch was started in the year 1977 to offer a diploma course in training Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing.

Ten years later, Eldoret KMTC Branch introduced the school of hospital maintenance, under support from the governments of Austria and Germany. This had a limited intake 12 Eldoret KMTC Branch students per intake.

In the beginning of 1991, introduced an upgrade diploma course in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, stopping the delivery of the certificate programme. This increased the intake at Eldoret KMTC Branch from 15 to 30 new students.

In late 1996, Nursing school and the school of Hospital Maintenance came together and formed what is today popularly known as Eldoret KMTC Branch.

Towards the end of 2003, Eldoret KMTC Branch replaced the Certificate programme in Medical Engineering to upgrade Diploma course in medical engineering. This saw the number of student intake in the course double.

By the end of 2003, a Diploma course in Clinical Medicine had picked at Eldoret KMTC Branch, with more than 50 learners.

In the year 2006, Eldoret KMTC Branch introduced Higher Diploma course in Anaesthesia.

Chwele KMTC Branch was established in the year 2014 to offer certificate course in health records and information technology. The first cohort of students for the course were admitted in September 2014.

Towards the end of 2017, Chwele KMTC Branch introduced an upgrade Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology. This course of 48 months allowed all those who had pursued the course at certificate level at Chwele KMTC Branch or any other KMTC to upgrade it to diploma.

Chwele KMTC Branch is lying on a 29.5-acre piece of land that was bought courtesy of CDF during the tenure of Hon. Moses Wetangula as the sitting Member of Parliament. Construction of the pioneer block was done by collaboration between CDF and Iranian government, which donated kshs. 90M.

Chwele KMTC Branch, just like other KMTCs, admit students twice a year due to the unending demand for health care crew country wide.

Kenya Medical Training College, KMTC Chuka branch was established towards the end of the year 2015 after a unison agreement involving Board of Directors KMTC, the area community locals, Chuka University senate and the county board of Tharaka Nithi County Government.

Chuka KMTC Branch started with only a certificate course and less than 10 students. Currently, Chuka KMTC Branch has about 600 students. The student population is expected to be higher in the next admission.

The KMTC branch in Siaya town, popularly known as Siaya KMTC Branch is established in Siaya County. Siaya KMTC Branch is just along the hospital road in Siaya town, near Siaya county referral hospital. This is precisely 70 km from Kisumu city. It is at this hospital that the Siaya KMTC Branch students do their practical lessons.

Siaya KMTC Branch was established in the year 2005 with only 66 students and one Department, the department Clinical Medicine. All the 66 Siaya KMTC Branch students were pursuing diploma in clinical medicine.

The following year, Siaya KMTC Branch introduced diploma in community health nursing and admitted 50 more students.

Two years later, Siaya KMTC Branch introduced certificate in Health Records and Information Technology and admitted even more students in its certificate programme.

Bondo KMTC branch was established in the year 2012 by the board of KMTC, under support of the area community engineer Gideon Ochanda, the then member of parliament for Bondo constituency.

Bondo KMTC branch was first established at Masita Technical Training Center, with only one certificate course to offer- Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology. Later on, another campus was built near Bondo sub- county hospital, to increase the availability of medical related courses to the area residents and to ensure proximity to a clinical experience facility.

Bondo KMTC branch began by offering the following programmes : Diploma in Community Health Nursing,  Diploma in Clinical Medicine and an upgrade course in health records.

Currently, Bondo KMTC branch has a total of 800 students. It has plans to increase the student population through introduction of another certificate course, medical engineering.

Kenya Medical Training College KMTC, Busia branch is among the 71 constituent branches of KMTC.

Busia KMTC Branch was established in the year 2003 by Vice President Moody Awori, who served as the vice president of the republic of Kenya between 2003-2007. He obtained full support from the community and the KMTC Board of Directors.

Official commissioning of the Busia KMTC Branch was done in the tear 2005 by His Excellency President Mwai Kibaki.

Towards the end of 2014, governor Sospeter Ojaamong laid the foundation stone for the construction of Busia KMTC Branch. phase one of the construction of Busia KMTC Branch ended in July 2016.

Busia KMTC Branch was authenticated by the Clinical Officers Council in the same year in November and by mid-November, the first cohort of Busia KMTC Branch students had been admitted to pursue a diploma course in clinical medicine.

Early 2017, Busia KMTC Branch introduced a diploma programme in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing and the first cohort of students for the course were admitted.
