The Government of Hungary has offered One Hundred (100) scholarships to eligible Kenyans for the following areas of study:

  • Undergraduate (BA/BSc) studies in the fields of Agricultural Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Economic Science, Engineering Science, Health Science, Sport Science and Natural Science;
  • Master’s (MA/MSc) studies in the fields of Agricultural Science,  Computer Science and Information Technology, Legal Science, Economic Science, Engineering Science, Medical and Health Science and Natural Science;
  • Doctoral (PhD/DLA) studies in any field of interest;
  • One‑tier master’s (OTM) studies in the fields of general medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, architecture, and veterinary medicine.

NB: One-Tier Masters (OTM) covers both Bachelor and the Master’s levels.

Auckland University International Student Scholarship

Eligibility

 Undergraduate

  1. Minimum KCSE Mean Grade of B (plain).
  2. Not more than 25 years of age.
  3. Grade “B” in core subjects in the preferred field of study.
  4. Completed Secondary Education in the last three (3) years.
  5. Have original KCSE certificate.

Postgraduate

  • Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree upper second class honors level.
  • For PhD, applicants must have a relevant Master’s Degree.
  • Are below thirty eight (38) years for Masters and forty five (45) years for PhD.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Preliminary application forms are obtainable from the Ministry of Education offices at Teleposta Towers, 27th floor Room 2702. The application forms can also be downloaded from the Ministry’s website: education.go.ke
  2. All applicants must also submit their application through the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation. After registration, the applicants are able to access the application surface and upload the required documents.  Please note that no application will be accepted without the online submission.  A guide to the online submission is available on stipendiumhungaricum.hu website.  The online application can be accessed on: apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu

The deadline for submission of the complete application package of online application to the Tempus Public Foundation is 15th January 2021 (23:59 Central European Time).

  1. Doctoral candidates are advised to visit website (https://www.doktori.hu) before applying.
  2. Students applying for doctoral program must have a supervisor at the host university. A statement of acceptance issued by the supervisor must be attached to the application.
  3. Candidates who are in service should submit their application forms through their Heads of Departments and attach the recommendation letter.
  4. Completed application forms with certified photocopies of ID, academic/professional certificates, transcripts, Birth Certificate, other testimonials and a proposal/study plan in the area of study (for PhD study only ), and a copy of online application form should be sent to:

Romanian Government invites international students for Scholarship programmes for the academic year 2021-2022, sponsored by the ministry of education of the government of Romania. Applications for undergraduate, master, and postgraduate degree courses are currently in the process.

Scholarship Coverage and Benefits
  • Full payment of registration fees, file processing fees and Romanian language skills test fees
  • tuition expenses for the preparatory year of the Romanian language;
  • tuition costs for the actual studies, but not more than the duration of a university cycle, corresponding to the study program followed;
  • monthly scholarship, for the students enrolled in the preparatory year of the Romanian language
  • monthly scholarship, for students enrolled in undergraduate, master, doctoral studies, respectively in post-university education, including in the health field, but no longer than the duration of a school/university cycle;
  • financing the accommodation expenses in the student dormitories, through the Ministry of education and research budget, within the limit of the allocated grant;
  • medical assistance in case of medical-surgical emergencies and diseases with the potential endemic- epidemic, in accordance with the national legislation in force;
  • Local, surface, naval and underground transport, as well as internal car, rail, and naval transport, under the same conditions as Romanian students.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
  • Foreign citizens coming from all the states of the world, except for EU member states. Foreign citizens of Romanian origin and those belonging to the neighboring historic Romanian communities benefit from other scholarship.
  • The applicant for the scholarship must not hold Romanian citizenship, did not request or did not obtain a form of protection in Romania, is not a stateless person whose residence on Romanian territory is officially recognized according to the law, is not a member of the diplomatic corps accredited to Bucharest or member of the family of the diplomatic corps accredited in Romania, has not benefited from a scholarship from the Romanian state on the same course of
  • The applicant for the scholarship must present study papers issued by accredited/recognized educational institutions, have good results in educationrespectively an average of the study years of at least 7 (seven) corresponding to the scoring system in Romania or the “Good” scoreas the
  • The applicant for the scholarship is not, until 31 December of the year in which he/she was nominated, more than 35 years of age – for bachelor and master studies and 45 years respectively – for doctoral studies or for postgraduate studies.
The Romanian Government Scholarships are awarded for 3 kinds of degree courses for international students:
  1. Undergraduate Degree Courses: This scheme is dedicated to graduates of high schools or of equivalent pre-university studies, as well as to candidates who require the continuation of their studies in Romania. The complete cycle of university studies lasts for 3 to 6 years, according to the specific requirements of the chosen faculty, and ends with a final examination.
  2. Master Degree Courses: This scheme is dedicated to graduates of university/post-graduate studies; it lasts for 1,5 to 2 years and ends with the defense of a final degree
  3. Doctoral Degree Courses: This scheme is dedicated to the graduates of university/postgraduate studies (i.e. master); it lasts for 3-4 years, in keeping with the specific requirements of the chosen faculty, and ends with a doctor’s thesis.
Medium of instruction in Romanian Universities

In order to promote the Romanian language and culture among foreign citizens, the beneficiaries of scholarships granted by the Romanian state should study only in the Romanian language. The candidates who do not know Romanian are offered one supplementary preparatory year to study the language.

The following categories of persons are exempted from the obligation to submit the Certificate of graduation of the preparatory year when enrolling in Romanian language teaching programs:

  1. persons presenting Romanian studies (diplomas and certificates) or educational papers, school situations attesting at least four consecutive years of study followed in the Romanian language, in an educational facility/institution in the Romanian national system;
  2. those who, in order to enroll in university education, promote the Romanian language test organized according to the regulations in
  3. Those who, for the purpose of enrolling in the university education, have attestations of linguistic competence for the Romanian language, the minimum level B1, issued according to the regulations in force.
How to submit an application to apply for the Romanian Government Scholarship?

Application files must be submitted through diplomatic missions. Application files submitted by post or directly to the MFA or to the MER, as well as application files received after the announced deadline will NOT be taken into consideration.

List of documents required to apply for Romanian Government Scholarship

The Romanian Government Scholarship application submission must contain the following documents:

  • Official letter issued by the diplomatic mission of the country of origin accredited to Bucharest or the diplomatic mission of Romania in the country of origin or residence;
  • The MFA application form (APPENDIX 1) for a scholarship in Romania, filled in correctly;
  • The MER application form (APPENDIX 2) for the issue of the Letter of acceptance to study in Romania;
  • Legalized copies of the obtained study diplomas (baccalaureate diploma or it’s equivalent + bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s degrees if any) and their legalized translation into one of the following languages: English, French or Romanian, if required;
  • Legalized copies of matriculation sheets/diplomasupplements related to graduate studies and their legalized translation, if applicable;
  • Legalized copy of the birth certificate and certified translation in one of the following languages: English, French or Romanian;
  • Copy of the first 3 pages of the passport;
  • The medical certificate attesting to the fact that the person enrolling in the study does not have contagious diseases or other conditions incompatible with the required studies;
  • Curriculum Vitae of the applicantmotivation letter, or SOP
  • Recent photos – 2 pieces, passport format.

Deadline to apply for Romanian Government Scholarship:

The deadline for submitting the application files is established by each diplomatic mission, but not later than 16 March 2021.

The application file will also contain the following documents (only for candidates falling within the specific category mentioned for each document):

  • Proof of name change (if applicable) – copy and legalized translation;
  • The certificate attesting the passing of the baccalaureate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral exam, as the case may be, for current year’s graduates – copy and certified translation;
  • Certificate of graduation of the Romanian preparatory year or Language Proficiency Certificate, if applicable;

Applicants should generally have a grade point equivalent (GPE) of at least 6.00.
