Teachers Who Attend TSC Mentorship and Coaching Program Likely To Get Automatic Promotions
Teachers employed by the teacher’s service commission, TSC, who will participate in the TSC mentorship programme are likely to be rated high whenever TSC promotion opportunities arise.
Teachers who will attend recruitment or promotion interviews after successfully completing the TSC mentorship will have higher chances of carrying the day.
TSC earlier on gave school heads a directive to forward details of teachers who would be mentors in the TSC mentorship program. Details of teachers, both from primary and secondary schools, who will attend the training for the TSC mentorship program, have been forwarded to the TSC for communication and further arrangements.

The training has been scheduled to begin shortly after the ongoing training of teachers on junior secondary will have been concluded.
The trainings on Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency Based Assessment (CBA) will be very different from the mentorship training program since the former or conducted almost wholly by the Ministry of Education and Kenya National Examination Council (Knec), while the latter is conducted by TSC.
Already, TSC has developed a frame work and policy which will guide the programme successfully.
According to sources privy to the teachers’ employer, teachers who will participate in the program should expect multiple benefits and incentives will be awarded to teachers who successfully take part in the programme,
Upon completing the mentorship and coaching programme, TSC will issue the participants with a certificate of completion, which will doubtlessly be considered an added advantage in promotions, appointment posts or recognition reward. It is worth noting that both the mentor and the mentee will be issued with completion certificates. This implies that the mentor and mentee will earn TPD points as provided for in the TPD policy frame-work and career progression guidelines.
