9. Habib Medical School

This is an affiliate college of the Islamic University of Uganda, established in 2014.It is a private university that offers medical sciences up to postgraduate levels of study.

It is located in Kibuli Hillvand and offers among other courses; Public Health, gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, Neurosurgery, general surgery, Orthopedics, ENT and Urology. It charges up to UGX 3M.

8. Busitema University- Faculty of Health Sciences

The Medical School of Busitema University is a school of Busitema university (a public university), that specializes in medical sciences. It has been operational from 2013. It offers up to postgraduate studies.

It is located at Mbale Referral Hospital along Pallisa Road. It charges up to UGX 1.95 M.

7. St. Augustine International University

It was established in 2011 by Engineer Charity Baraza as a private university. Its education programs in medical fields are interestingly innovative. It has several campuses, the main one being located at Bunga about 7 km from Kampala city. It charges a maximum of USD 3000.

6. Martyrs University of Uganda -School of Medicine

Formerly named mother Kevin, this is the faculty of medicine at Martyrs university. It was established in 2010 but has constantly strived to be at the top. It deals only in postgraduate programs.

Its major postgraduate courses include; gynecology, pediatrics and surgery. It is located in Nkozi, though it has satellite campus in Nsambya Hill. It charges a minimum of UGX 2.5M

5. Kampala International University -School of Health Sciences

This is a branch of Kampala university that offers both basic and advanced health sciences. Established in 2004, it admits students from Uganda and across the whole Africa. It is located precisely 331 km from Kampala city, at a place called Ishaka. It charges up to UGX 2.25M

4. Clarke International University

Formerly called university of international health sciences, it is the largest private university in the region, admitting nonresident students. It is an a affiliate of the Clarke group of companies, owned by Ian Clarke, one of the richest politicians in Uganda. It has 2 campuses; main at St. Barnabas road Namuwongo and the other one located within Lubowa district. It charges approximately UGX 1.7 M.

3. Gulu University- School of Medicine

This hosts the faculty of medicine at Gulu University School of Medicine. It started operating in 2004. Most medical courses are offered here up to the postgraduate level. For those pursuing clinical medicine, classes are attended at Gulu referral hospital.It charges approximately UGX 1.95M.

2. Mbarara University -School of Medicine

The Mbarara University medical school is part of Mbarara university of science and technology, a reliable public university in Uganda. Established in 1989, it is located at Mbarara referral hospital in Mbarara district.it is about 300km from Kampala. For tuition it charges only UGX 1.34M.

1. Makerere university-school of medicine

This is a branch of Makerere university that specializes in medicine. Being the biggest and most ancient institution, it offers top notch knowledge in health sciences up to postgraduate levels. It is among the schools in the college of health sciences, headed by a dean.

It was established in1926 in Mulago, north eastern kampala.it is precisely 6KM from Kampala city. It charges about UGX 2.2M.
