TSC Advertises July 2021 Vacancies For Primary And Post Primary Teachers

THE TEACHERS service commission, TSC, has invited interested applicants to apply for various teaching vacancies in primary schools and secondary schools.

Recruitment for secondary schools

Secondary schools have been allocated 4000 recruitment slots and 927 replacement slots. To qualify for recruitment, an applicant must meet the following conditions;

1. Be a Kenyan citizen
2. Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education
3. Must be a registered teacher with the teachers’ service commission

Promotion and deployment of practising teachers in public primary schools

TSC plans to deploy 1000 primary school teachers to secondary schools. To qualify, the applicant must meet the following conditions;

1. Must be a Kenyan citizen
2. Must be a holder of a p1 certificate
3. Must be a holder of a bachelors’ degree in education with two teaching subjects
4. Must have attained at least a C+ at Kenya certificate of secondary education or its equivalent and a C+ in each of the two teaching subjects
5. Must be serving under the teachers’ service commission

Applicants in this category must ensure that certified copies of their degree certificates and academic transcripts are filed at the commission through TSC county directors within one month.

Successful candidates shall be appointed at T-scale 7, grade C2 under the career progression guidelines for teachers and shall be deployed to secondary schools where the vacancies exist.

Recruitment of primary school teachers

1000 primary school teachers are to be recruited in July and the vacancies have been advertised. Additionally, TSC has also advertised 2987 replacement slots for primary school teachers. A candidate must meet the following requirements to qualify;

1. Must be a Kenyan citizen
2. Must be a holder of a P1 certificate
3. Must be a registered teacher with the teachers’ service commission

Successful candidates will be posted to serve in in any part of the country and not necessarily in the counties where they were recruited.

 Additionally, TSC has advertised 2987 vacancies for primary schools and 927 vacancies for secondary schools to replace those who exited service due to natural attrition.
