You Will Get Your Pay After Funding, KNEC Tells Examiners
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has agreed to settle payments of 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)examination markers.
KNEC Chief Execute Officer (CEO), David Njegere, has confirmed that the examiners who worked on the 2022 national examinations will receive their pay after the commission receives funding from the government.
He was speaking before the Public Investments Committee on Education in Parliament recently.
At the same time, Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) had offered KNEC an ultimatum of two weeks to pay the over 50,000 KNEC examiners who are yet to receive their pay three months now after offering their services.
KUPPET Secretary General Omboko Milemba, who earlier criticized the council for placing the examiners in unfavourable circumstances during the national exams marking procedure, said despite all that sacrifices the examiners made, their labour was not recognised.
