Teacher Service Commission, TSC, has begun the process of deploying 1000 Primary Teacher education graduates currently teaching in primary schools to secondary schools across the country.

Within the past two years, 2,000 P1 teachers have been promoted to teach in secondary schools. The promoted PTE graduate teachers start at job Grade C2 at a salary of 34,955 shillings per month and will move to job grade C3 upon completion of three years according to Career Progression Guidelines (CPG) for teachers

In July 2021 TSC advertised for another 1,000 deployment vacancies for practicing primary school teachers to apply and all the documents of the applicants were verified.

Registered teachers with C plain mean grade Barred From Updating their TSC Teacher Profile

The teachers service commission is in a rush to complete deploying the successful P1 teachers who submitted their applications in July to secondary schools. This is in the interest of the 100% transition and the massive enrollment numbers for form ones in various secondary schools.

Through various TSC county directors, applicants have been instructed to submit certified copies of their degree transcripts. Among the counties that has responded is Kwale county, who will receive the certified copies of degree transcripts next week.

“All primary school teachers who applied to be moved to secondary schools are asked to submit certified copies of their degree transcripts by Monday 9^th august 2021 to the office of the TSC county director,” reads a message sent to the primary school head teachers in kwale county.

Several heads from other counties have received a similar text from their TSC county directors, indicating that the successful applicants are soon getting deployed to high schools. The good news is that most of applicants were successful.
