The Teachers Service Commission (TSC)has transferred several secondary school principals across the country to new stations.

In some of the changes, Ng’iya Girls Principal Florence Omondi has been moved to Sinyolo Girls in Kisumu. She will take over from Hellen Juma, who now goes to Ogande Girls in Homa Bay.

On the other hand, Dr.Jennifer Otolo, who has been serving as the Ogande Girls school head has been transferred to Ng’iya Girls in Siaya to replace Ms. Omondi.

In the changes contained in a letter titled Handing Over/Taking Over Exercise written by the Siaya County TSC Director and dated January 24,2023, Okoth Bonaventure, who has been heading St. Mary’s Yala in Siaya, now goes to Riokindo High school in Kisii. His place has been taken over by Victor Omondi Makanda who has been at the helm of St. Antony Boys high School-Kitale in Trans-Nzoia County.

The immediate former Riokindo Principal, Edward Wachilonga has consequently been parachuted to Chavakali Boys in Vihiga County. He will replace the Principal whose fate was not immediately known.

The TSC also replaced former principals-Canon James Okoyo of Ramba High and Samwel Kaunda of neighbouring Barding who retired recently. Up to recently,Wanyonyi Nachari and Anumo David had been acting on those headship positions at Ramba and Barding in that order.

Their places have now been taken substantively by Mwambwa Wycliffe from a school in Bungoma and Astine Muma from Ringa Boys in Homa Bay County respectively.

Also affected in the changes is Ugenya’s Got Oyenga Principal, Mary Naliaka whose new station was not immediately clear.

It has also been confirmed that St.Joseph Rapogi Principal, Stephen Abongo now goes to Ringa Boys to replace Muma. At the same time, Ratanga Principal, Erastus Nyagwa will relocate to Rapogi to succeed Abongo. Nyagwa will be replaced by Uriri High Principal,Nicholas Ochieng.

There were also reports that Tenwek High School Principal, Mutali Chesebe would be going to St.Antony to replace Makandi at St. Antony Boys in Kitale. But it is understood that he may remain at his current station thanks to intense lobbying from local Bomet leaders.

However,Kaplong Principal, a Mr.Sang will be moving to Kabianga High School in neighbouring Kericho County to replace Dr.Joash Aloo who joined the Homa Bay County Government as the County Minister for Education.

There were also speculations that Koderobara Principal,Isaac Okeyo has been moved to Agoro Sare High in Homa Bay.More changes are said to be in the offing before the end of the week.
